PCD Grinding Cup Wheel

A PCD cup wheel is not a grinding wheel. It is a stripping wheel. Polycrystalline diamond tips are blocky rather than abrasive — they get under a coating and shear it off the slab instead of grinding it into dust. That single difference is why a PCD wheel lifts carpet glue as ribbons while your diamond cup wheel just polished it into a shine.

This is the tool for the job nobody enjoys: epoxy, mastic, tile adhesive, bitumen, waterproof membrane, plaster, paint, VCT and old glue. It is faster than diamond on soft and sticky material, it will not load up or ball into a gum, and the PCD tips outlast diamond grit by a wide margin on coating work.

Use it as the first pass on a renovation floor, then follow with a diamond cup wheel to even out the scratch pattern before you coat, level or polish.
